Betsie Miller-Kusz

Betsie Miller-Kusz is a painter of singular vision. A great guardian figure recurs in her paintings.  For many years this figure has been a mediator between the realms of consciousness and Betsie’s translation of this etheric being into visual existence. The guardian is sometime female, often androgynous, but always universal.  She emerges from light, is partly light, brings light to the world we inhabit. The paintings invoke the force of life itself. They are brilliantly colored and boldly executed. The guardian figure is, however, never threatening.  She is protective and life-giving.
